Halifax Stamps $60M in Waste Contracts

Halifax has awarded $60 million in new waste collection contracts, while at the same time avoiding the creation of a monopoly over the city’s eight collection zones.

Six of Halifax’s waste collection zones will be split between the RE Group and GFL Environmental, the lowest bidders in the contract competition.

The two remaining collection zones were awarded to Eastern Shore Cartage and Leo J. Beazley Ltd.
