Groot Industries Receives 10-Year Contract Extension with Illinois Village

The Village Board of Glenview, Ill., has approved a 10-year contract extension with Groot Industries, Inc., the village’s current waste collector.

The new extension brings may perks to the village of Glenview, including lower frees for landscape waste, frozen garbage fees for 2016-17 and a decrease in the village’s own costs.

The residential collection fees, however, will see an increase of 0 to 2.5 percent for 2017-18 and 1 to 2.75 percent annually for 2018-26, depending on the consumer price index.

In exchange for extending its garbage contract through 2026, Glenview will get lower fees for landscape waste, frozen garbage fees during 2016-17, and a reduction in the village's own costs.

The Village Board approved a 10-year contract extension with Groot Industries, Inc., of Elk Grove Village, Glenview's current waste collector, at its April 5 meeting.

Groot will get increases in residential collection fees of 0 to 2.5 percent, depending on the consumer price index, for 2017-18 and of 1 percent to 2.75 percent annually, depending on the CPI, from 2018-26.
