Bloomington, Minn. Undecided on Future of Garbage Collection

The Bloomington City Council is pushing to organize residential solid waste collection, and negotiations with licensed haulers will continue, the council determined.

Last week the council reviewed a proposal negotiated with the haulers during the past two months. The monthly rates proffered by the haulers would generally be lower than the average rates reported by residential customers, although the rate for the collection of recyclable materials would not be as low as the rates being realized by other cities that have negotiated citywide rates.
