Waste Management Opens CNG Fueling Station in Florida

Waste Management Inc. has opened a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station in Pompano Beach, Fla.

The Houston-based Waste Management said in a news release the new Clean N’ Green fueling station will serve municipal and commercial fleets as well as its own collection vehicles.

The company recently added 75 new CNG fueled trucks to its fleet in Pompano Beach’s Broward County, replacing older, diesel-fueled vehicles. Waste Management said it has invested nearly $30 million in Broward County.

ET Environmental built the Pompano Beach facility and Waste Management funded construction.

In Florida, Waste Management has a slow fill CNG station in Sarasota and two others planned for Palm Beach County and Tampa in 2013. The company plans to have 45 CNG fueling stations in place by the end of 2012.
