Republic Adds 53 CNG Waste, Recycling Trucks in Charleston, S.C.

Republic Services Inc. has deployed 53 new compressed natural gas (CNG) waste and recycling trucks to serve the Charleston, S.C., metro area.

The Phoenix-based Republic said in a news release that it also installed a natural gas fueling station in Charleston to support its new fleet, which replaces older, diesel-powered trucks.

Republic serves more than 34,500 residential and 5,000 commercial customers throughout the Charleston area, and employs 180 in the region.
