Mobile, Ala., Launches Downtown Business Recycling Program

The city of Mobile, Ala., is launching a new recycling program for downtown businesses on Monday. With the new program, businesses will be offered curbside single stream recycling services.

All businesses interested in the program will receive a free blue recycling cart during the pilot program. City crews will bring the recycled material to a transfer station, where it will be collected with additional recycling material and transported to the recycling facility.

The City of Mobile is launching a new recycling program for LODA businesses. Starting next Monday, businesses in the Downtown area will be offered curbside single stream recycling. See the map below for the new recycling route.

All interested businesses will receive a blue recycling cart at no cost during the pilot program. City crews will transport the recycled material to a transfer station where it will be collected with other recycling material and moved to the recycling facility.
