Bear Cub Versus Sheriff

Bears cannot seem to get enough of the spotlight. Over the last few weeks, a bear caught a ride on a garbage truck in Los Alamos, N.M., a bear outsmarted a sealed trash bin and residents of Boulder, Colo., were cited for violating the city’s bear trash law.

This week, a California deputy had a close encounter with a bear cub at the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. Surprisingly, the bear cub obeyed the deputy’s orders to not tip over the trash can.

A California deputy recorded a visit to the sheriff's office by a young bear that proved itself moderately obedient.

The video, posted to Facebook by the Placer County Sheriff's Office, shows the cub approach a garbage can at the North Lake Tahoe station.
