Franklin Township hopes to have a bid by mid-October to replace the temporary methane extraction system in a capped landfill which raised concerns earlier this year.
Methane levels above state guidelines had been detected at the landfill, located under baseball fields on Pennsylvania Avenue.
A temporary vacuum extraction system has been in the ground since April 10, and recently officials say the extraction system is working and no methane has been detected.
"Right now everything is reading zero," Franklin Township Deputy Mayor Louis Gonzalez said. "Everything is going the way it should."
