Pennsylvania Asked to Permit $56M Expansion of Lancaster County Landfill

The county waste authority today asked the state for permission to vertically build its landfill on Turkey Hill upward by another 50 feet, extending its life by 24 years.

The $56 million project would involve building terraced, earthen walls around the existing Frey Farm Landfill that would allow its footprint to expand by 10 acres and add 50 feet ultimately to the height of the landfill beyond the filling of its original space in 2019.
