President Trump was carried to the White House on promises of scaling back government’s reach into workplaces. His Administration has framed its regulatory agenda as the “deconstruction of the administrative state.” OSHA regulations are apparently at the heart of this deconstruction. Now, a year into the Trump Administration, we have seen significant changes to the OSHA landscape. This program takes a deep dive into actions taken by the Trump Administration in conjunction with the Republican Congress to slash OSHA regulations and lessen OSHA’s punitive influence – from the repeal by Congressional Review Act of several Obama-era midnight rules, to a budget and Regulatory Agenda that could gut OSHA’s enforcement and rulemaking efforts, and a series of Executive Orders and policy announcement that stopped or rescinded OSHA rules. What does this new face of OSHA mean for the Waste Industry, and what can we expect over the balance of the Trump Administration.
