A recycling plant in Columbus, Ohio that burned earlier this month has begun its recovery.
The Ohio EPA is working to help Phoenix Recycling characterize the waste left by the fire so workers know the right place to send it to.
Heather Lauer a spokesperson for the Ohio EPA also says they are working with the company to make sure runoff from the ash does not contaminate drains and sewers.
Lauer says she does not know where Phoenix Recycling will send the charred pallets, plastic material, and rubble.
