THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Encina Development Group, LLC (“Encina”), a company that processes plastic waste to create renewable chemicals and renewable fuels, announced today that Mylinda Jacobsen has joined the company as the Global Director of Purchasing to lead the material purchasing, sourcing, and management initiatives.

“Mylinda is a proven leader in the scrap plastics procurement space, and an operational executive with an impressive 25-year career in leading new initiatives in plastic recycling,” said David Schwedel, Founder & Executive Director of Encina. “Mylinda’s market expertise, industry connections, and the ability to develop strategic relationships are key to shaping the growth trajectory of Encina in the coming years.”

“It is an exciting time to join Encina,” said Mylinda Jacobsen. “I will use my experience to build long-term relationships with suppliers and other participants in the supply chain. My goal is to cast a wide net for multiple feedstocks to serve the Encina process, and drive Encina’s fast growth with a competitive cost structure.”

Jacobsen is an international purchasing and business development expert, and relationship driver with thought leadership in the plastics recycling industry. Previously with Envision Plastics, Mylinda led the global purchasing team in raw material sourcing efforts, where she grew the supplier base, built deep scrap plastic supplier relationships, cut waste, and improved logistics efficiency. Prior to Envision, she served as the solid waste programs coordinator for the Town of Kernersville Public Works, where she created a practical, widely adopted municipal recycling program, and led other environmentally friendly initiatives such as increasing recycling rates to growing revenue.

Mylinda earned a B.A. degree from the College of Charleston and has certifications in recycling and landfill operations. She had previously served on the board of several waste and recycling industry associations.
