Cumberland County, Tenn. Launches Textile Recycling Program

"Volunteer to Recycle” is the motto here in Cumberland County.

Textile recycling is coming soon to all Rural Convenient Centers and the Recycle Center in town on Maryetta St. The best news, this program is being launched and operated at no cost to Cumberland County.

The big orange boxes have been custom made with the motto in mind, “Volunteer to Recycle,” with the bright Tennessee orange color. Boxes will be set at each location for collection of textile items over the next few weeks. The collected textiles will be processed by a company who picks up the collections, recycles, reclaims and closes the loop by processing and converting these items to uses in the recycle industries, and diverting this from the landfill, thus saving us dumping costs.
