Como se dice "safety" en espanol?

The Washington-based National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) is making all four installments of its "Be Safe, Be Proud" safety video series available in Spanish. The series includes installments focused on landfills, transfer stations and route managers. "In any and every language, making safety a top priority helps reduce fatalities, injuries and accidents," says David Biderman, NSWMA's general counsel and safety director. "NSWMA continues to work hard to improve safety in the solid waste industry, and our 'Be Safe, Be Proud' videos are in important component of that effort."

Order forms for the videos are available by visiting www.nswma.org and clicking on the "Safety" link or by calling (800) 424-2869.

NSWMA also has announced that it will conduct driver training programs in Phoenix on Feb. 2 and 3 and in Las Vegas on Feb. 5. Each two-hour session is free and will focus on space management, backing and other common driver issues. The sessions will feature classroom time as well as computer-based and simulator components. Registration forms are available here.

On a final note, below is a clip of a television public service announcement that the NSWMA produced and is encouraging local haulers to share with area television stations. NSWMA has free broadcast-quality DVD of the ad - as well as free DVDs of a similar radio spot - available to haulers and local governments. For more information, click here.
