In “Dynamic Duo,” [November 2002, page 76] Waste Age incorrectly described a part of the St. Lucie County, Fla.'s baling system. Liquid squeezed from garbage flows through a series of trenches where it is vacuumed out and disposed on the working face of the balefill. Solids fall onto a conveyor on each side of the baler and are mixed in the hopper with trash from the tipping floor, and then baled. The facility uses two Milan, Italy-based Macpresse International balers which are distributed by Sierra International Machinery Inc., Bakersfield, Calif.
