Burlington, Ontario -- Capital Environmental Resource Inc. has reached an agreement to purchase a municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill near Orlando, Fla., for $71 million. The 1,100-acre facility, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2004, will serve Osceola County and the greater Orlando area and has a permitted capacity of 24 million cubic yards. The agreement depends upon the company’s fulfillment of certain conditions.
