A Kansas City, Mo.-man found a mysterious old tire painted white on his front porch and noticed a cassette deck and speaker wired to it. A few houses down from him, a woman found a trash bag painted white on her front doorstep. When the woman picked up the bag, it began playing music and she felt a burning sensation on her hands. The police were alerted and dispensed a bomb squad and hazmat team. Upon examination, authorities found no explosives and attributed the burning sensation to the paint.

Later that evening, police received a call from the person responsible for the musical trash. Apparently, the refuse was part of a student's art project designed to show discarded items in a new light. The student voluntarily turned himself in to police and faces seven charges of leaving imitation explosive devices.
