Young Boy in Dubai Collects More than 1,100 Lbs. of Recyclables in Two Weeks

After realizing how much the environment is being ruined by overuse and misuse of resources, 9-year-old Yug Shah of Dubai managed to collect more than 1,100 lbs. of recyclables in just two weeks.

Yug is currently a member of several environmental groups like Students for the Earth and Emirates Environmental Group, and he recently designed his own recycling program by preparing educational flyers based on the importance of recycling.

Deeply moved by how the environment is being destroyed by overuse and misuse of resources, nine-year-old Yug Shah decided to do his part to make a difference. He managed to collect over 500kg of recyclable material in two weeks.

Already a member of several environmental groups like Students for the Earth, and Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), and having participated in events like World Environment day, Earth Day and Earth Hour, Yug this time decided to literally take the matter into his hands. The Neighbourhood Recycling Project started by EEG gave the youngster the platform to show his enthusiasm, giving him a chance to act as a responsible change agent.
