Alcindo Soares, a resident of island country Cape Verde, has turned debris and waste found on Santa Maria beach into exercise equipment for an outdoor gym. The outdoor gym, which is located on Santa Maria beach, features workout equipment like weights, pullup bars and a bench.

In addition to cleaning up the beach, Soares is improving his health and working toward his goal of becoming a professional athlete.
