EPA Honors WasteWise Partners

The Washington-based U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) honored 34 WasteWise partners for waste reduction and recycling achievements at the WasteWise’s annual conference in Arlingont, Va. WasteWise is a voluntary partnership that promotes waste reduction, reusing materials and recycling.

The U.S. Postal Service’s Northeast area, St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control were inducted into the WasteWise Hall of Fame. Other honorees included Clifton, N.J.; Hewlett Packard, Roseville, Calif.; Limited Brands, Columbus, Ohio; and University of Chicago Hospitals. WasteWise, now in its 11th year, has more than 1,400 partners whose combined waste reduction efforts have eliminated 65 million metric tons of carbon equivalent.
