The Framingham, Mass.-based office supply retailer said that through its cartridge recycling program it has recycled about 182 million pounds of plastics and metals, according to a news release. The past three years Staples has averaged more than 60 million cartridges recycled annually.
With the program Staples customers receive $2 back in Staples Rewards per recycled cartridge, with a limit of 10 per month. Customers can drop off used cartridges at any Staples retail location, and they can use Ink Recycling Rewards to buy most items from Staples, in-store or online.
Staples Rewards members receive free shipping from Staples.com and 5 percent back on all purchases.
