Renewable Energy from Waste

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has fined Agilyx Corp. $45,600 for hazardous waste management violations at its plastics-to-fuel facility in Portland, Oregon. 

The facility was developing a production process that converts plastic scrap into crude oil. 

The violations included failing to properly label containers containing hazardous waste, failing to mark containers with accumulation start dates, failure to store waste only within the 90-day limit, storing hazardous waste in closed containers and maintaining a current contingency plan.
