A multimillion-dollar plan to harvest recyclables and renewable energy from garbage dumped at the Franklin County landfill is in jeopardy because the company planning to do the work has not paid its bills. 

Board members of the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio decided yesterday to delay any decisions after they declared that Florida-based Team Gemini LLC was in default of a contract to build an $18 million garbage sorting facility at the landfill. SWACO says Team Gemini owes it more than $1.1 million for its share of construction costs for a new road being built into the landfill. 

Representatives of Team Gemini have previously said that they don’t owe the authority any money until after they secure all of the financing needed for the project from investors.
