Harrisburg, Pa. — In a recent poll of likely Pennsylvania voters, 64 percent of respondents said they would consider their governor’s proposed increase in trash collection fees to be a tax hike. Gov. Ed Rendell is advocating a $5 per ton increase in trash collection fees. The Pennsylvania Waste Industries Association, an organization that opposes the proposal, commissioned the poll. The poll carries a margin of error of +/- 4 percent.
