Raccoon Catches a Ride on Garbage Truck in Virginia

Last week, a raccoon climbed up an American Disposal Services garbage truck in Virginia and held onto the truck’s latter for a joyride.

Last week, a raccoon climbed up an American Disposal Services garbage truck in Virginia and held onto the truck’s latter for a joyride. Once the driver was made aware of the animal, he pulled over to make sure that the raccoon was not harmed.

The police helped capture the raccoon and safely released it back into the park.

The Washington Post has more details:

A raccoon took a ride on the back of a trash truck Friday through Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood.

Politico reporter Helena B. Evich spotted the raccoon on the back of an American Disposal Services vehicle on Oak Street, near the intersection with Clarendon and Wilson boulevards. Evich said she contacted the company to see whether it could help the critter, and a representative of the company vowed to look into it.
