Garbage Trucks Catch Fire at Republic Services’ Cleveland Facility

On Thursday, several garbage trucks at Republic Services’ Cleveland waste facility caught fire. Firefighters fought through extreme heat conditions and gas fumes coming from the garbage trucks and exploding tires to put out the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Several garbage trucks caught fire overnight at a Cleveland waste facility.

Fire crews, including police and EMS, responded to Republic Services on Jones Road, just off of Broadway Avenue for reports of possible vehicles on fire.

When firefighters arrived, garbage trucks parked in a lot were engulfed in flames.
