U.S. Chamber of Commerce Selects Orlando for Recycling Pilot Project

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation has chosen the city of Orlando to be the home of Beyond 34: Recycling and Recovery for A New Economy, a new pilot project that aims to boost the current 34 percent recycling rate in the U.S.

For the pilot project, the city of Orlando will work with Orlando’s Regional Chamber of Commerce and Resource Recycling Systems to develop a recycling business plan for the Orlando area and its stakeholders that will help keep valuable recyclables out of landfill.

Central Florida is teaming up with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to create a more sustainable future.

It was announced Thursday that the city of Orlando has been chosen by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to be the home for its Beyond 34: Recycling and Recovery for A New Economy pilot project.

According to a press release from the foundation, "The project aims to increase the current 34 percent recycling rate in the United States by providing a scalable model for improving recycling and recovery rates."
