Recyclebank Program Launched in East Point, Ga.

Compiled by the Waste Age staff.

Republic Services has launched the Recyclebank single-stream recycling program in approximately 9,000 single-family households in East Point, Ga. The RecycleBank program encourages households to recycle by rewarding them with points based on the amount they recycle. The points are redeemable at local and national retailers, restaurants and grocery stores.

Republic also has implemented the Recyclebank program in Atlanta and three other Atlanta suburbs: Alpharetta, McDonough and Peachtree City.

“We are thrilled to be the next city in the Atlanta area to work with Recyclebank and Republic Services to offer residents this innovative recycling rewards program, especially having seen its success in neighboring communities [in improving] recycling rates in the past two years,” said East Point City Manager Crandall Jones in a press release.
