A controversial proposal in Chippewa Falls is laid to rest Tuesday night.

For weeks residents have been worried about a possible option to have only one provider for both garbage and recycling services.

Tuesday Chippewa Falls City Council members voted against that option.

Instead, they approved the low bid for single stream recycling and residents will still be able to choose who they want to pick up their garbage.
