N.Y. Gov. Cuomo to Develop Plastic Bag Task Force

The year-long study of the issue will help the city develop recommendations for reducing the use of plastic bags.

In June 2016, the New York City Council voted to postpone its proposed five-cent fee on plastic bags until February 2017. And in February, lawmakers voted to block a law that would have made the five-cent fee for plastic bags effective.
