Savannah Adds Cartons to Recycling Mix

Juice boxes are getting a second life in Savannah. The same goes for any plastic-coated carton used for liquids such as milk, juice, wine, soy and nut milks, and soup or broth.

Residents can now put these empty cartons directly into their recycling bins for curbside pick up.

There’s no need to rinse, according to Jason Pelz vice president of recycling projects for Carton Council, a Texas-based trade group that promotes carton recycling. Just empty the carton and replace the lid.
