Smoke from a fire at the Simco Road Regional Landfill could be seen for miles Tuesday.
Dispatchers say they first got a call about flames at the site around 8:15 p.m. Monday.
Because the landfill is outside the Elmore County Fire District, Commissioner Wes Wootan told KTVB that fire crews from the Orchard Combat Training Center were called in to help.
"They're working on getting that suppressed," he said of the landfill fire.
