Houston -- Waste Management Inc. is sponsoring a national cash awards program to provide incentives for communities to promote America Recyles Day (ARD) on Nov. 15, 2001.

Up to nine regional awards will be funded, and each winner will receive $3,000 to be used to help promote recycling, waste reduction and buy-recycled campaigns.

To be eligible, communities must register their events with ARD's official website, www.americarecyclesday.org, and entries must be received by Jan. 11, 2002.
