Volvo Engine Receives EPA Approval

Greensboro, N.C. -- Volvo Trucks North America Inc. has received approval by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Washington, D.C., to manufacture and sell its 2002 emission-compliant VED12 diesel engine.

The EPA issued a conditional certificate to Volvo while it completes a formal review. However, the EPA has stated that the engine meets emissions requirements of the Clean Air Act as well as meets EPA regulations.
