Transfer Station Strike Ends

Sacramento -- Approximately 30 picketing workers from the Sacramento Recycling and Transfer Station who claimed the facility engaged in unfair labor practices have ended their strike. The employees’ labor union stated to Sacramento media that the drivers have been working without a contract for more than a year and were forced to the picket line when contract negotiations stalled. The drivers do not pick up trash; they transport it to a landfill in Nevada. Replacement workers took over a majority of the picketers’ jobs during the 24-hour strike.
