Senator Seeks More Superfund Information

Washington, D.C. — Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., has demanded a more complete accounting of U.S. Superfund sites from Marianne Horinko, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) assistant administrator in charge of the toxic waste cleanup program.

Boxer and Sen. Jim Jeffords, I-Vt., argue that the EPA is practicing obstructionist behavior by releasing only a partial list of Superfund sites. In response, Horinko has promised to release a full list of sites.
