RPCC Plans Reusable Packaging Campaign

Washington, D.C. -- The Reusable Pallet and Container Coalition (RPCC) has announced a campaign to promote the use of reusable transport packaging through workshops and legislative efforts. The campaign is partially based on a workshop with the Twin Cities Solid Waste Management Coordinating Board (SWMCB) held Oct. 1, 2002, in Minneapolis where presentations explained the uses and costs of implementing reusable containers in various storage, shipping and display capacities for several businesses. RPCC plans to schedule similar events in other cities throughout the year as well as to encourage legislative backing that would make reusable packaging more affordable. RPCC says it already has achieved tax reductions on reusable materials in Florida, Delaware and California.
