Montenay Receives OSHA Award

Panama City, Fla. — Montenay Bay, an incinerator and waste-to-energy facility for Bay County, Fla., has been awarded certification as an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star site. The VPP Star designation means Montenay Bay, owned by Montenay Power Corp., Miami, which is a subsidiary of ONYX, Sarasota, Fla., applied for and completed an OSHA inspection in August 2002 that examined the company’s standards and practices of employee health and safety. In the state of Florida, 25 other facilities have OSHA’s VPP Star award. An award ceremony is being scheduled.
