More than 800 Communities Plan for America Recycles Day

Washington, D.C. –- Following President Bush's declaration of Nov. 15 as America Recycles Day (ARD), communities across the nation are crafting events to educate and excite Americans about recycling. More than 800 ARD events are scheduled, including: children’s art contests in three states that feature projects made of recycled material; prize rewards for spectators who bring recycled materials to a San Diego Gulls hockey game; and a mercury thermometer exchange in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
