Groups Criticize Major CCA-Treated Wood Resellers

Atlanta -- A coalition of consumer activists has published a report criticizing Home Depot and Lowe's for selling lumber treated with chromated copper arsenate (CCA).

According to the report, an average of 247 micrograms of arsenic was found on wood samples, much more than the amount that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Washington, D.C., has proposed for drinking water.
