First of Many Forums on Ergonomics Issue Held Today

Washington, D.C. — The Department of Labor has begun a series of forums to determine which course of action it should take to establish ergonomic standards in the workplace. On Monday, July 16, Eddie Greer, president of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), will present recommendations on what should be addressed when developing a standard. Labor Secretary Elaine Chao expects to have a standard in place by the end of Sept. 2001.
