Casella Reports 3.7 Percent Revenue Increase

Rutland, Vt. -- Casella Waste Systems Inc. has reported earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $25.8 million for the second quarter of the 2003 fiscal year. Revenue for the quarter, which ended Oct. 31, 2002, was $114.5 million. Net income for the quarter was $3.2 million. Revenues increased $8.3 million, or 3.7 percent, to $230.4 million in the six months ended Oct. 31, 2002, from $222.1 million in the six months ended Oct. 31, 2001. Among the company’s assets are five Subtitle D landfills, 35 solid waste collection operations, and 31 transfer stations.
