Phoenix Expands RecycleBank Program

The city of Phoenix has expanded its RecycleBank program by 30,000 households. Phoenix launched the program in 30,000 households at the end of November. Another 35,000 residences are slated to be added by the end of March. The RecycleBank program is used in cities nationwide and rewards households with points based on the amount they recycle. The points are redeemable at retailers, restaurants and grocery stores.

“Phoenix continues to lead the way in creating a greener, more sustainable city,” said Phoenix City Councilman Michael Johnson in a press release. “Partnering with RecycleBank is a way to protect our environment, invigorate our local economy, keep our community clean and deliver meaningful everyday savings to the households of Phoenix.”
