The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) cited 10 trucks for operational and safety violations during recent inspections at three landfills and one transfer station. All of the violations were against haulers, not the landfills or the transfer station. The inspections were conducted on Sept. 24.
“Our inspections underscore the priority we give to ensuring that trash trucks operating on Pennsylvania highways are safe and in compliance with environmental regulations,” said DEP Regional Director Kelly Burch in a press release. “We have conducted thousands of trash truck inspections over the past several years because we want to get unsafe trash trucks off the highways.”
