OSHA Forms Alliance to Promote WTE Worker Safety

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has formed a partnership with the Washington-based Integrated Waste Services Association (IWSA) to promote worker health and safety in the waste-to-energy industry. Under the alliance, OSHA and IWSA will develop training and educational programs for IWSA members and others to reduce and prevent workplace injuries and health hazards such as lead exposure and unsafe walking and working surfaces.

IWSA is an organization that promotes the use of waste-to-energy technology within the solid waste industry and represents 65 plants nationwide.
