University Of Georgia Launches Recycling Project

Athens, Ga. — The University of Georgia has launched a pilot project aimed at getting its students to recycle, according to the Red and Black student newspaper. Each Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., students in the Russell Hall dormitory can only place recyclable material in the building’s trash chutes. On Tuesday, the residents can only put paper products in the chutes, while on Thursday, they can place containers made of plastic, glass, aluminum and steel in the chutes, the paper says. The school hopes to begin similar programs in other dormitories, according to the paper.
