Paper Recovery Decreases Slightly

Washington — Just less than half — 49.3 percent — of the paper and paperboard that Americans consumed in 2004 was recovered for recycling, according to the Washington-based American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA). In 2003, Americans recycled 50.3 percent of their paper and paperboard, an all-time high, according to AF&PA.
