Honolulu Will Not Ship Trash To The Mainland

Honolulu — A Honolulu official says the city will not ship its trash to Idaho or Washington state, a move the municipality had been exploring. Frank Doyle, environmental services director for the city, told KXLY-TV in Spokane, Wash., that transporting the trash to either of the two designations would only postpone the creation of a needed long-term plan for how to handle solid waste.
