Former Knox County Landfill Workers File Complaint

Ex-employees, a former trash collector and a community activist have voiced heavy allegations against the Knox County Landfill management including Administrator Jerry Reynolds among others.

Former landfill employee Marty Short along with local activist Jerry Ryberg together filed an unfair labor practice charge with the Illinois Labor Relations Board this week against the Knox County Board and Chairman Brian Friedrich, naming Reynolds and former union steward Bob Wagher in the complaint.

“The Knox County landfill has a long-standing (more than eight years) ‘culture’ of loud, profane, bullying bosses, verbally abusing and threatening men, and sexually harassing women,” the documents read. "Anyone who protested, or seemed to protest this treatment, was seen as a threat to be gotten rid of.”
