The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) has announced the creation of Organizations for Supply Chain Recycling (OSCR), a coalition made up of trade associations across several industries that will work to solve challenges currently facing the recyclable materials supply chain.
“Until now, there has not been an effective forum to discuss issues, share ideas and advocate for complete supply chain recycling solutions,” said Darrell Smith, president and CEO of NWRA, in a statement. “This broad coalition is an opportunity to partner with stakeholders that will support a sustainable supply chain and a renewed demand for recyclable materials that will encourage job creation.”
Recyclable materials will be in demand in the face of a growing U.S. manufacturing presence as well as an impending investment in U.S. infrastructure. The coalition will host forums for discussion and education as well advocate for policies that encourage domestic recycling and responsible waste disposal.
Industry groups across the recycling supply chain are invited to join OSCR. There is no fee for membership.
